Calgary Adventure

So recently for my Anniversary trip I visited the City of Calgary for my 1 year anniversary with my Boyfriend. We stayed at my sister’s place enjoying her and her girlfriends company. Everyday we went out and walked around the city but one evening was quite special. We decided to go for a night walk which surprisingly the city was still busy at night, lively I would say. We set on a main focus, to capture neon signs and as both of us went out and shot our photos. The last night was also a special time as we caught ourselves a beautiful light show. We visted different Pubs, made a few purchases and saw a lot of beautiful things in Cow Town
Polaroid Bar
Now this Pub was a place that really popped out to my eyes. It had polaroid pictures everywhere, on the counters, the walls, the doors. These polaroids were filled with pictures of people and places. Me and Russ were taking a look from the outside into the inside and one gentleman chatted up with us and talked about photography and weddings. Now I’m not a social person but he was an interesting fellow.

The House Party
As me and Russ had our midnight adventure we stumbled across this house bar that was on our bucket list to go see anyway which was crazy because we didn’t even mean to find it. Now this “House Party” was an actual house but it had a bar in it with tables set up in the living room, dining room, backyard and front yard. The upstairs had a pool table, going upstairs the photos on the wall had pictures of people who turned to monsters which I thought was a neat feature. The back yard is where we spent most of our time. It was covered in fake grass but we went to the side of the house and found ourselves a nice comfy couch to rest. We sat there and talked for hours sharing each others photos and tossing bean bags into wooden holes.

New Camera
Now on one of our walks around the city I visited a camera store called….. The Camera Store. Iconic, I know right?
I walked into the store and i was infatuated with all the equipment that surrounded the inside. From Len’s, Cameras, filters, bags, studio set ups, and best of all was the film cameras. I snagged a pretty deal on this Pentax K1000 SE. I really wanted to start my film photography journey but couldn’t find one in my price range but oh man I took this thing with me where ever I went. its my Prize baby.

To End our trip in Cow town, we had the amazing opportunity to see Globefest 2023! Calgary hosts this festival of fireworks every year. Me, my Boyfriend, my sister and her girlfriend walked two kilometers to evan get to the festival cause the streets were just packed full of people from the side of the road, to the people trying to find parking spaces, it was just nuts but i have to say it was one of the best preformances ive ever seen in my life. After that concluded our night we woke up the next morning and had a 9 hour drive back to Fort St John, BC.
None the less Calgary is one of my favourite citys to visit, with so many different people, art, architecture, buisness’s and views. Full of life as a city should be.
